The first outbreak I worked with was the Ebola Outbreak in Sierra Leone.
It was as part of the largest outbreak of Ebola in the whole history, which affected West Africa in 2014 and 2015. They needed loads of help to fight the outbreak, and I volunteer to travel to Africa to work in an Ebola Hospital.
Since then, I realised that I loved working in this field and helping society to fight epidemics. I realise that epidemics can have terrible consequences and working as a scientists doing epidemiology was my way of helping society the most! 🙂
