I would actually say the understanding and application of electricity (aka the theory of electricity) is our most important scientific fact. Its well respected and lots of people rate it highly….but even so, I think its still underrated! Lots of people take for granted or forget just how revolutionary electricity has been for human society.
      .
Its allowed for significant advances in all areas of science thanks for high-tech research, new products to be developed, better quality of life, lives saved from diseases thanks to medical advances, global communication at the touch of a fingertip, easy access to knowledge on the internet, improved agriculture, space exploration, potentially in the future it may be the way we power most of our cars and transport, and more! It really has revolutionised our world in such a short space of time. Electricity was really only understood and harnessed in the 19th century onwards and look how far it has come! 😄⚡
