      This can vary from person to person but on average, after about a minute people can pass out. Scientists have calculated that after about 4-6 minutes the brain can be damaged due to lack of oxygen and cells start to die.
      .
      There is a lot of variation though. The person who has held their breath the longest managed to do so for a crazy 22 minutes!
