I hope that my research can help us move closer to better understanding why certain bacterial diseases are able to infect, how they become resistant to antibiotics and how we can stop them. I won’t be able to do it alone though, far from it! I hope my work combines with the brilliant work of many talented scientist from around the globe to help tackle these issues.

I hope that my research helps policy makers, people like politicians, make better decisions for public health interventions to stop the spread of infectious diseases. Through this, I hope that less people will get diseases, and that more people will head happy, healthy, and long lives!

I hope to develop methods to use genetic information to better control epidemics! Only recently have we been able to get this genetic information quickly, and it can tell us so much, but at the moment it’s not used as a tool during epidemics. I would like to change this (along with all of the people that I work with!).
This way we can use all of the information that we’ve got so that we stop epidemics faster and fewer people get sick!
