• Question: why is your heart called a heart if its not in the shape of a heart???

      No idea which name came first! Maybe the shape should have been called something different 🤔

      A valentines heart and our organ, the heart look very different. The red valentine heart was first used by the ancient Greeks back in the 5th century. It was based on a plant fruit/seed and was used to represent love.
      .
      The heart inside of us, doesn’t look quite as romantic…it just looks like a slimy muscle! They chose the closest shape that looked kind of like the heart. Also back in the old days people used to think that the heart controlled us and our emotions, not the brain. Perhaps as the valentine heart shape was linked to love, they thought this was the most appropriate shape to pick.

      It would be pretty difficult to draw a heart like how ours looks as well – it looks pretty grim
