      There are three reasons the core is really hot
      The first is that some heat from when earth was formed hasn’t yet escaped
      The second is that there is friction from denser stuff sinking
      The third is that is radioactive decay happening in the centre

      On the surface, heat can go into space more easily, there is less radioactivity, and the friction isn’t there!
