Scientists have predicted that the sun will die in 5 billion years. When it dies it will turn in to a red giant star and the earths time will be up. We still have 5 billion years so by that point will we probably have explored and settled elsewhere in space! There are some big global issues like climate change and antibiotic resistance that we have to worry about now as they are big risks for the global population. Many scientists are working on these areas but there is still lots of work to do!

As Danny says, there’s a limit to the age of the universe! But I would be more concerned about climate change, which very soon will make it very difficult for humans to live on a lot of Earth. A recent report came out that said that even the best case scenario is not great and will lead to a lot of flooding and fires. There are a lot of great scientists working on what to do, but ultimately it will be political commitment that is the answer! With campaigning and political change, we might be able to help!
