      We think the world is about 4 and half billion years old. We used to think it was a lot younger, but in the 20th century scientists made big advances in accurately dating rocks, with a process called ‘radiometric dating’!

    4.543 billion years is our best estimation. It was a while before life got going though, its predicted that the very first life forms emerged around 3.5 to 4 billion years ago. 🌍

    The Universe is 13.8 billion years old so earth is just a little baby compared to some of the older planets! 🌌
