      We think there is around 7.7 billion people on the planet, but getting an accurate estimate is actually harder than you might think! Actually counting all the people in the country (called a population census) doesn’t happen all that often – the last UK census was in 2011. Other countries haven’t had a census in over 30 years! To get the figure of 7.7 billion, we use a combination of census data, smaller scale population surveys, and through analysis of satellite images.

      As trystan said, it has been estimated that there are 7.7 billion people located over the world. A large number of these people are based in Asia – China and Indian are the worlds most populous countries.
      .
      There have been about 120 000 000 births this year but just 50 000 000 deaths so the global population is set to continue rising as time goes on 🌏
